February 4th

Iran has said that the attacks on parts of their country are a ‘strategic mistake’. (BBC News)

The United States and the United Kingdom have launched their third wave of strikes on the Houthis in Yemen. 36 targets across 13 locations were hit by air strikes from the two countries. The United Kingdom’s Defence Secretary said the strikes are “not an escalation”. (BBC News) (AP) (Sky News)

Huge forest fires are burning at 92 locations in central and southern areas of Chile causing the deaths of at least 46 people and leading to the destruction of 1,100 homes. The fires are being linked to El Nino which has caused much hotter temperatures in western South America this year. (AP)
